Beto Beltran is a 2021 RHP/3B, SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Coachella, CA who attends Shadow Hills. Medium frame with a solid build and beginnings of strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays weight on back side at gather with slight hip coil. Lands in line with front side while working to the plate. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing some downward plane with occasional run through the zone in the low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tighter spin and late depth when staying on top of offering at release. Consistently attacked hitters to the bottom of the zone inducing weak contact. Flashed swing and miss potential with curveball. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing fundamentally sound footwork while rounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and worked through exchange quickly. Released form a three-quarters slot producing accurate carry to the bag at 82 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Moves into contact well with lower half. Loose hand path to baseball with a simple, repeatable line drive barrel plane. Displayed present bat speed with solid strength at contact when squared. Consistently looked to work to the middle of the field and pull side gap.
