Corbin Ybarra is a 2022 OF/RHP, 1B with a 6-3 166 lb. frame from Clovis, CA who attends Buchanan High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball, good energy moving through the ball and incorporates a short crow hop prior to release, shows quickness to actions and a compact arm action, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into finish, shows accuracy to throws. Also pitched, does a nice job of staying on line with delivery down the mound; similar quick and compact arm action through the back working to an over-the-top slot. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, worked on top and created downhill plane with short life to arm side; mixed secondaries and kept hitters off balance. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Gets closed moving into contact, short bar at start of swing, swings with intent and shows a full path through the zone. Creates present bat speed through the zone, has offensive tools to refine and improve upon, mostly linear with swing path and shows occasional lift at point of contact. Very good student.
