LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 PG Pitcher/Catcher Indoor-Feb 11-12
Brad Allen is a 2007 RHP/1B/3B with a 6'4'', 185 lb. frame from Geneva IL, who attends Geneva HS. He looks bigger than his listed weight and has a plus athletic body that projects to get very strong with maturity. His arms and legs are very long. Allen has a high leg kick to start his delivery and a high 3/4's release point. He has a compact arm action that hides the ball well from the hitters and does a good job of staying on line and too the plate. He does have some effort on release. Allen's fastball topped out at 84 mph at the showcase with running action. He throws a 71 mph curveball that has a sharp, late slider type of break and is working on a change up. Allen could develop into a big time power pitcher with maturity. He also has some prospect tools with the bat. Allen has a balanced stance and an aggressive line drive swing with some lift at the finish. He has very good bat speed and made consistent solid contact. He's looking to get his long arms extended and does a good job at times. He has an idea how to hit. Allen is a very good follow and nice looking athlete. Keep a close eye on him.
