2021 Memphis Prospect Showcase
Josh Hyneman is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-4 240 lb. frame from Jonesboro, AR who attends Jonesboro. Extra big and strong build, really stands out physically. Slow paced under control delivery on the mound, high 3/4's arm slot, gets on top of his fastball well. Worked mostly in the upper 80's with his fastball, topping out at 90, mostly straight and thrown to spots all around the zone, dominated with his fastball command and velocity. Tended to drop his hand and get under his breaking balls. Change up was his best secondary pitch with good arm speed and angle. 7.67 runner in the sixty. Showed nice athleticism at first base, has soft hands and is light on his feet for his size. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced stance with a short stride into contact, attacked the ball aggressively in the games and made consistent hard contact, multiple extra base hits including a pull side home run, nice combination of simplicity and strength at the plate. Had a dominant performance event both on the mound and at the plate, played with energy and enthusiasm. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Arkansas. Named to the Memphis Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
