Luke Mercado is a 2024 SS/RHP, C, OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends North Forsyth. Medium and athletic frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.50 second 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield sitting back on the baseball and fielding it out in front with two hands out in front, hands are developing, arm action is long and he releases from a high 3/4 arm slot. Secondary righthanded pitcher, takes his arm back to a similar arm action as in the infield up to a 3/4 arm slot, arm stays loose through the back, short stride down the mound and effort at release. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with an open stance, relaxed hand placement, stays behind the baseball with a pull side approach, will continue to improve pop with additional strength to his frame.
