Marcelo Rodriguez is a 2025 RHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Rodriguez is an athletic mover with a good body. Projectable arm, a projectable body, and a good mover on the mound. Has a well-proportioned build with room to keep adding strength. Works uptempo in his delivery. Glove starts at the belt and follows the leg kick up to the chin. Works into an explosive arm path that throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot. The fastball jumps out of the hand with arm-side run and occasional bore against righties. His fastball was 83-87 mph, spinning up to 2,257 RPMs. His breaking ball shows 10-4 shape and can be slurvy at times. The breaker is in the mid-70s, spinning around 2,107 RPMs. Also showed a changeup that he killed spin on in the mid-70s. The breaking ball has two-plane break and can be a weapon in his arsenal as he continues to develop. Tons of whip to the arm with good speed. Quick through the back. Has good direction moving down the mound with a shorter stride. He filed up the zone and landed breaking balls for strikes. He got whiffs on both the fastball and the breaking ball. Was able to induce chases as well. Punched out 7 opposing hitters over 3 innings of work. Great student.
