Nic Frink is a 2023 C/RHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Scarborough, ME who attends Thornton Academy. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, stays low in set up behind the plate, side step moving into release, very tight transfer and release with quickness to arm and carry on throws down to second base, will continue to refine overall footwork. Also pitched, high and balanced leg raise at start of delivery, works exclusively out of the stretch; full arm action through the back, lived comfortably in the low-80s with fastball and topped out at 84 mph with flashes of big diving life down in the zone. Occasionally gets mistimed, shows slurvy spin to curveball, mixes well to left-handed hitters with 10-4 shape up to 69 mph. Maintained velocity well, comfort landing the curveball for strikes consistently. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Stays short to the ball and shows quickness to hands with present bat speed through the zone. Looks to impact the ball at the point of contact and swings with intent, stays tight with swing, shows carry to all fields, gets mistimed with leg lift at times, more power to unlock with additional extension out front. Named to the Fall Connecticut Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
