James Hayek is a 2023 2B/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Columbus, OH who attends Upper Arlington. Large frame with an athletic build. Long limbs and showing more room to fill out physically. Ran a 7.10 second sixty yard dash. Primary Second Baseman, sitting back on the baseball as he makes sure to keep it in front of him. Gathers it up and works into transfer as he slows momentum down. Full arm swing and released as he threw it 75 mph during drills. Secondary Outfielder, quick first step as he works into the baseball with urgency. Gathers out front at times before working into an over the top release. Arm strength present while relying on the upper half to generate carry. Threw it 84 mph during drills. Left-Handed Hitter, even while slightly open with the front side. High back elbow as he strides out. Down and out type path as he looks to generate bat speed with the top hand. Proved he could find the barrel and drive it to all fields. Power in the swing as well as he recorded an exit velocity of 85 mph. Great Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
