2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Nick Costa is a 2026 OF/1B with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Mullica Hill, NJ who attends St. Augustine Preparatory. Extra large, well developed frame with muscular build and excellent athleticism. Ran the 60 yard dash in an impressive 7.03 seconds, especially for a player of his age and physicality. Primary position OF, with exaggerated glove work that was a bit late but worked fine. Got to the ball quickly and deliberately gathered himself with a deep funnel. Long, full arm action with some carry on throws up to 77 mph to bags. Reps at 1B as well, moving well here and showing good feel around the bag. Clean funnel transfer, gets on top of throws that peaked at 76 mph here. LHH working from an even base and quiet load to get ready. Works his hands flat to the ball and tends to work the bottom a bit much. Heavy, strong hands punishing the ball at impact and there is real bat speed here. When he stays on plane with the pitch, look out, the ball gets off his bat in a hurry. Very good student as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
