2021 Northwest Prospect Showcase
Eli Blurton is a 2023 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Vacaville, CA who attends Vacaville. He ran a 7.75 second sixty. A primary catcher with a medium lean build. Behind the plate he sits in a wider stance with developing feel for the action as he comes out of the crouch showing good arm strength on his throws down to second base with a 2.08 second pop time. In the outfield he fields the ball out front with good actions through the ball into a long full arm action with good carry on the throws. On the infield he showed soft hands moving well through the fielding process with developing range as he worked into strong throws. On the mound he started with a short stride with a quick short arm action generating good life out of the hand as the fastball sat 80-84 mph with arm side run going mostly to arm side of the plate for strikes. He mixed in a mid 60's breaking ball as well with good depth through the hitting zone and potential to tunnel even better with more conviction as he continues to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base and open stance using a high leg lift to get back to even, the swing shows good intent with a direct bat path showcasing the ability to lift the ball to the middle of the field when he is on time out front with the barrel.
