Colin Spear is a 2022 1B/3B/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from San Francisco, CA who attends Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. Medium frame with beginnings of strength. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Primary first baseman with smooth paced footwork while working to and centering the baseball. Funnels the baseball from a deeper position and worked through exchange with loose, fluid exchange. Created accurate carry across the infield topping at 72 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a tall, open stance and reaching front side trigger. Generated some shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Direct hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Flashed some leverage at contact when working to baseball out front. Displayed solid feel for the barrel while employing a mid-field approach. Good student as well.
