Porter Buursema is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Woodstock, GA who attends Blessed Trinity Catholic High School. Medium athletic build. Side step delivery, gets his hips turned well over the rubber and is fluid and directional down the mound, 3/4's arm slot, arm works well out front. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Showed outstanding feel for spinning the ball, threw a mid-70's curveball mostly to left handed hitters, big eye level changing depth, threw harder slider mostly to right handed hitters and got lots of swing/miss on this pitch. Flashed a firm change up with a slower body into release. Fills up the zone with a quality mix, ability to throw two distinct quality breaking balls for strikes stands out. Good student, verbal commitment to Georgia Southern.
