Andrew Pitts is a 2024 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Hoover. He ran a 7.65 second sixty. A primary left-handed pitcher with an average build. On the mound he starts with a staggered start with a side step into a belt high leg lift with a short abbreviated arm action through the back up to a three-quarters arm slot. He was effective in getting the fastball under the hands of right-handed hitters at 74-77 mph using the heater to set up the secondary pitches nicely with a short breaking ball creating depth as it tunnels nicely out of the repeated slot allowing him to retire hitters quickly. In the outfield he takes an aggressive approach to the ball with a long arm action doing a nice job of getting on top of the ball and creating carry on the baseball with developing arm strength. At first base he receives the ball deep looking to transfer quickly and make quick throws to the bases with a short arm action. Left-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base using a short stride to stay on time as he is able to control the barrel well out front and impact the ball well on a line with a short quick swing path.
