Roberto Alberto Costas is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 5-10 203 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Ponce Christian Academy. Medium frame with a strong lower half and good physicality throughout. Primary righthanded pitcher with a coiled leg lift and high front side. Drop and drive lower half mechanics with good stride length toward the target. Whippy arm action and pounds the zone as he repeats his mechanics. Controls the baseball well and has heaviness to the fastball that topped out at 85 mph. Works both halves well and flashed a slider that showed some tilt. Manipulates the fastball to generate life. Good spin traits to the slider and moves well when he gets on top of it. Named to the NUC East TP List.
