Matthew Leal is a 2023 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Pearland, TX who attends Pearland. Long and lean frame with great physical projection. Ran a 6.99 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, has good quickness moving around the outfield, good direction and momentum to and through the ball, gets rid of it quick and showed solid arm strength/carry on throws. Also pitched, arm talent translates, good plane to the fastball when downhill and showed developing feel for a slider and changeup. Right-handed hitter, quick hands and turns tight, has some strength behind the swing and the bat speed creates good carry while showing consistency with the barrel and projectable components. Good student. Named to 2021 National Underclass South Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
