Baylor Rowell is a 2022 RHP/2B, OF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Barrington, IL who attends St. Viator. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Stays balanced on back side at gather and used lower half well while driving the to the plate. Compact arm circle at take back and released from an extended three quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly generating occasional run to arm side in the mid 70's, topped at 77 mph. Flashed good feel for the zone with the ability to work the edges of the plate. Changeup created good sinking life through the zone in the upper 60's. Consistently challenged hitters and produced weak contact. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Funnels off to side and worked through exchange efficiently. Released from a three-quarters arm slot and produced accurate throws at 75 mph. Left handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and heel lift trigger. Simple hand path to contact with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to utilize a line drive approach while working to the middle of the field.
