Grainger West is a 2022 RHP/UT with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Vestavia, AL who attends Vestavia Hills. Long and strong athletic build with plenty of room to get even stronger. Works from the stretch on the mound with a low hand start, has a quick arm with good extension out front and nice arm speed, tends to fly open with his front side early and loose direction. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, keeps the ball down in the zone well with occasional arm side running life. Had good arm speed on his curveball and showed good depth at times. Good bet to keep improving with additional strength and delivery adjustments. Plays outfield when not on the mound and showed his arm strength and athleticism well in the games. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a late leg lift trigger, has a short swing for his size with a line drive swing plane, showed an accurate barrel in the games with multiple base hits. Good student. Named to the Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
