Francis Garcia is a 2026 SS/RHP/C with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Miami Christian School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows a bounce in step with twitch and athleticism in actions, works to a lower slot on throws and shows both arm strength and carry across the diamond, plays with intensity, moves well on feet during charge play; accurate arm with carry from the outfield, does a nice job of getting on top of the ball. Graded best behind the plate, lower set up with flexible actions in lower half, receives the ball out front, very accurate throws down to second base, 1.94 best pop time, compact arm action and release. Also pitched, abbreviated windup with a belt high leg lift, good tempo throughout and works to a lower three-quarters release point. Filled the strike zone and mixed consistently, fastball topped out at 77 mph with occasional cut action and mixed a pair of breaking balls with comfort and conviction; able to get unbalanced swings, slurve up to 67 mph shows 2-plane action and can mix a more vertical curveball up to 60 mph for strikes as well. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a short stride moving into contact. Turns over the barrel well with conviction and works on time through the zone with barrel. Does a nice job of getting the barrel out front, works comfortably to the middle and pull side parts of he field, nice contact skills and projects with added strength. Very good student.
