Nicholas Gutierrez-Villa is a 2023 RHP/1B, 2B, 3B, SS with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Archbishop Edward Mccarthy. Medium build with solid present strength and a chance for more. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.51 seconds. Primary position RHP using a semi-windup delivery where he works heavily in his lower half. He gets down the mound well with good front side direction and works into a short 3/4 arm angle. He repeats his delivery, hides the ball well and works quickly and efficiently. His FB sat in the 77-82 mph range and displayed nice arm side action as he worked both sides of the plate. His slider is a quality secondary offering with sweeping action in the low 70's that pairs well with his heater and generated plenty of swing and miss. He took reps on the IF as well where he worked with smooth actions and showed good range, especially to the glove side. The glove was late at times but his hands are soft and he secures the ball well. His transfer is clean and allows him to show off his arm strength across the diamond. RHH using a narrow stance and working to a slightly closed position as he carries his hands in a loose, lower set. He loads his hands back and deep putting him in position to launch the barrel with his strong hands and loose wrists. He works mostly to the pull side, getting the bat head out and showing nice power potential. Excellent student, with an interesting two-way tool set.
