2023 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Raymond Ferguson is a 2024 C/1B, 3B with a 5-9 181 lb. frame from Dix Hills, NY who attends St. John the Baptist. Compact build with good muscle tone and a frame to build on in the short-term. Primary position C, starting from a higher stance and a bit offset. Creates good direction with his lower half as he gains ground and shows repeatable throwing mechanics. Works downhill with his throws, relatively accurate as he showed throws up to 71 mph and a pop-time best 2.05 seconds. RHH working from an even base and a lower handset and high back elbow to start. Displayed nice hand speed and uses a flatter bat path to create low, line drives gap to gap. Really showed the willingness to use the whole field. Very consistent in BP round with a lot of line drives and emerging power potential. Has the skill set to be an offensive catcher with time. Elite performer in the classroom as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
