Rafael Soto is a 2024 SS/2B with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Rahway, NJ who attends P27 Academy. Recorded a 7.43 second 60 yard dash time. Primary shortstop with twitchy actions and a very quick transfer and release. Moves well laterally, works low to the ball with snatchy hands. Some funk in the release, throws were all around the bag, developing arm strength. High energy player, hands work well and shows feel for the glove, clean round. Switch hitter with a wide base and a low and deep hand load. Big weight shift and knee to knee trigger, pushes the shoulder. Flat bat path, hands work well and show the ability to adjust, gap to gap approach. Some whip to the barrel, can run into timing issues. Swing is very similar on both sides.
