Corey Long is a 2023 3B/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Clover, SC who attends Clover. Recorded a 7.68-second 60-yard dash time. Tall, slender frame with strength remaining to be added throughout his build. Primary corner fielder, flashed some range going to his glove side with developing footwork. Deep fielding funnel, getting handcuffed at times, plays through the ball well. Accurate throws to first as he changed his arm slot for different throws, up to 78 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, simple operation with a drop and drive lower half, extending to the plate well. 3/4 arm slot, creating late sinking action on his fastball. Worked fastball in the mid-70's, topping out at 78 mph. Quality two-pitch mix, pairing fastball with a curveball that flashed short break as he was able to land it for strikes consistently. Right-handed hitter, wide, event stance with a high-hand set. Tendency to get mistimed using a leg-lift trigger. Downhill swing plane with a rotational lower half. Continuing to develop feel for the barrel. Excellent student.
