Thaniel Trumper is a 2020 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Fort Collins, CO who attends Fossil Ridge. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size and strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a repeatable, directional delivery. Stays balanced at gather and used lower half well while driving to the plate. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Displayed good arm speed through extension with a fastball offering that generating some downward plane in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Breaking ball showed quality spin with solid depth in the mid 60's. Maintained arm speed well with a changeup offering that created good sink in the low 70's. Consistently attacked the strike zone and showed good feel for each edge of the plate with both fastball and off speed pitches. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing clean, fluid footwork while working through the baseball. Showed solid range to each side and worked through exchanges quickly. Released from a three-quarters slot and produced accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance and high back elbow set. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Created solid bat speed at contact with a line drive barrel plane. Primarily worked to the middle of the field and flashed good jump off the barrel when squared. Good student. Named to the 2018 Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
