Cole Morton is a 2022 3B/RHP, C, OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Stapleton, AL who attends Spanish Fort. He ran a 7.70 second sixty. A primary third baseman with a with a large physical frame. In the infield he showed quick hands getting to the ground late. Takes a large shuffle into his throws with a full arm action while displaying developing arm strength. Behind the plate worked around the ball gaining ground into his throws, transfers were lower across the chest into a short arm action. Throws produced accurate carry to the bag and posted a 2.21 pop time. On the mound, starts with a side step into a medium leg lift before sitting into the back side to drive down the mound. Fastball sat at 72-75 mph with good feel for the zone. Mixed in a curveball in the low 60's as well. At the plate, worked mostly to the right center field gap with enough strength in the hands to drive the ball in the gap. Starts with a narrow base and uses a toe tap trigger to time up the swing. Barrel plane works steep into the zone with a direct path helping to create carry off the barrel. Very good student as well.
