Blake Gonzalez is a 2023 MIF/RHP, 3B with a 5-9 121 lb. frame from Leander, TX who attends Rouse. Medium frame with slender, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.87 seconds. Hits from spread, open stance with high back elbow, toe tap trigger, shifts weight well, good feel to hit, gets barrel out well, showed solid contact skills with the beginnings of some pull side pop. Worked out in the infield, ease to footwork to both sides, stays balanced and has athleticism, fields cleanly and makes accurate throws, clocked up to 73 mph. Also pitched, lengthy arm stroke through the back, shows arm speed, online delivery with repeatable lower half, fastball worked 70-73 mph with life, mixed in a curveball with some depth, did a nice job of throwing strikes. Very good student.
