2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase
Will Hunt is a 2021 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Jane Lew, WV who attends Lewis County. Athletic frame with longer limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Ran a 6.98 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Displayed good arm speed through extension. Fastball jumped out of hand well producing running life through the zone in the low 80's, topped at 83 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth in the low 70's. Consistently changed speeds and attacked the strike zone with both offerings. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing clean footwork while rounding and surrounding the baseball. Good range to each side and funneled the baseball with fluidity. Created accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 82 mph. Right handed hitter with an even, balanced stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Loose hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane. Flashed some hand quickness through the zone with strength to the gaps when squared. Primarily looked to drive the ball on a line to the gaps. Very good student. Named to the 2019 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
