Asher Stevens is a 2021 RHP/3B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Ashland, KY who attends Ashlan Paul Blazer. Strong build with present strength and athleticism. Ran a 7.32 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound. Lands online with the plate and stays online through finish. Flashed a compact arm action in the back going to a over the top arm slot at release with good arm speed. Displayed a fastball with downhill plane and good feel for the zone at 81 mph complemented with a 10/4 curveball with shorter depth and sharp break at 67 mph. Also worked out defensively in the outfield. Flashed aggressive, athletic actions working to and through the baseball. Showed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 80 mph. Right handed hitter. Employs an upright slightly closed stance with a longer bat path in a high intent power oriented swing. Displayed the ability to create bat speed and work the barrel out front creating loud contact to the pull side when on time and squared. Flashed good barrel control creating consistent line drives throughout batting practice as well. Great student.
