Taylor Hendrix is a 2021 2B/3B/UT with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Conroe, TX who attends Oak Ridge HS. Taylor is an obviously mature HS senior who has a certain fundamental ability that he uses to his benefit. He shows sound skill at a couple of positions. He is also a standout in the classroom. He ran a 7.30 60 yard dash which is average for his age group. A primary infielder, Taylor has a great feel for positioning and playing through the fielding action. His quick feet and sure glove allow for a consistent transition. His 84 mph velocity on his throws show great potential. His throws are firm and are consistently on-line and accurate. In the outfield, Taylor is tick more deliberate, but is very sure. He positions well and plays through the fielding action with gathering momentum. His glovework is certain and he transitions well, where his strong arm again comes into play. His highly accurate throws show plus carry because of the 82 mph velocity behind them. At the plate, Taylor has a "contact first" mentality. This style helps him use his plus base running ability. While his straight line speed isn't necessarily off the charts, his ability to run the bases is an advanced tool. He has more of a downward plane with his swing and a middle of the field swing path. He obviously wants to drive the ball with authority. His timing is still a work in progress, but his swing operation is sound. This fall is big for Taylor as he enters his senior year of competition. He has some room for physical growth that will certainly elevate his already sound game. The weight room will be his best friend.
