Cole Hudson is a 2008 3B/OF with a 6'5'', 185 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Bradenton Christian HS. He has a long and tall build more commonly found on a pitching prospect and developing strength. Hudson has a calm, balanced approach at the plate and gets to his front side early in his swing. His hands take a short path to the ball and he generates good leverage at contact with some bat speed. Hudson has a good swing for a taller player and more strength is going to start equalling some serious power in the future. Defensively, Hudson had a smooth arm action and the ball left his hand easily, although his throws lacked present velocity and carry. It could be a projectable area for him. The concern on defense will be Hudson's feet; he has trouble with his first step and lateral quickness at third base and could end up at first base or left field in the future. The thing to watch is his bat and strength.
