Ethan Fernandez is a 2020 C/RHP with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Lake Jackson, TX who attends Columbia. Compact frame with broad shoulders and room to add. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Sets up in a high slightly side straddle stance. Long actions in the back getting on top of the ball and topping out at 68 miles per hour and popping a 2.33 during workouts. Limited ground gained out of the stance. Righthanded hitter with a spread stance to start and tap trigger. Limited shift into contact with a slightly uphill path to the ball. Secondary righthanded pitcher working exclusively from the stretch. Simple delivery into a high three-quarters to over the top release. Straight fastball working in the upper quadrants and topping out at 74 miles per hour. Gets on top of the curveball and creates downward break to the pitch in the mid-50's.
