Austin Shever is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Kingwood, TX who attends Kingwood. Recored a 8.05 second sixty-yard dash time. Strongly built with long levers and present strength. Primary right-handed pitcher with fairly simple, repeatable mechanics; using a small side step into a slightly above belt leg lift and efficient movements down the slope. Three quarters arm slot with loose, whippy arm action and some occasional cutting life at release. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the most part, topping out at 81 MPH with ability to sink or cut it to both sides of the plate. Secondary offerings are still in the developmental stage with curveball showing loose 11-to-5 shape and occasional depth. Secondary first baseman with a solid defensive skill set; uses very deliberate footwork during the fielding process with fairly quick turns, accurate throws and present arm strength. Right-handed hitter with a spread stance, high back elbow and leg lift trigger; aggressive actions with deep hand load and linear lower half weight shift for timing. Intent based swing with aggressive barrel turns and occasional gap-to-gap power when on time. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and skill refinement. Good Student.
