Daniel Ilibassi is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 5'8'', 140 lb. frame from Wantagh NY, who attends Wantagh HS. He has a short, lean athletic body that's the type that may not get much stronger. Illibassi throws from a low 3/4's release point with a early front side release and a quick arm coming through. He has some deception in his delivery and hitter's didn't look like that saw the ball very well. Illibassi's stuff was sharp and he mowed down the hitter's quickly during his three innings of work. His fastball had nice life up to 82 mph. His two best pitches were a 68 mph change up that was excellent at times and a sharp breaking 73 mph slider. Illibassi was very aggressive in the strike zone attacking hitters. He has the kind of left handed stuff and approach that is going to get hitter's out at the college level and coaches in the Northeast should take note of him. Illibassi is also a good student.
