Rodolfo Vale is a 2007 MIF/3B with a 5'9'', 145 lb. frame from Elmwood Park IL, who attends Elmwood Park HS. He has small, young build with good overall body life and quickness. Vale is a very good defensive player in the middle of the infield. His first step quickness enables him to get to balls, his footwork and balance are very good and his hands soft and sure. He plays defense with confidence and fields everything cleanly and smoothly. Vale's arm strength is best suited for second base but his quickness and ability to make the routine play enable him to play shortstop well. Offensively, Vale hits out of a spread stance with his hands back and little loading action. He has a nice, level swing and shows some hand quickness getting the bat head to the ball. His lack of physical strength keeps him from driving the ball now but he is fundamentally sound. Vale is a player you want to see play in games, especially on defense.
