Ian Razo is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Lake Elsinore, CA who attends Temescal Canyon. Recorded a 7.82 second sixty yard dash time. Strong and sturdy frame with size. Primary outfielder with a long arm action, max effort thrower, ball comes out of the hand well at 83 mph. Solid footwork with good routes to the ball, the frame and athleticism project. Secondary right-handed pitcher, tall and fall delivery with a loose, long arm action. ¾ arm slot with above-average arm speed. Separates ball from glove early but still manages to hide the ball well. Fastball sat 77-80 mph with some cut action. Creates a good amount of horizontal movement, almost looks like a slider at times. Gets on hitters quick. He is still refining command of the offering. Needs to throw more strikes. Best used on glove side of the plate. Despite command issues, movement makes the heater an intriguing offering. Curveball sat 69-72 mph with sharp, downward break. Had bite when thrown well with swing and miss ability. Threw for strikes often. It is a legit out pitch currently. Paired well with fastball. The quality two-pitch mix has the potential to be lights out from the pen as he adds more velocity on the heater. Right-handed hitter with a simple operation, has plenty of jump off the barrel and found the barrel consistently during his round. Has definite bat speed and gets on plane well, has pull side power and feel for the barrel, swing projects well moving forward. Good student.
