Edgardo Jose Martinez is a 2022 SS/OF with a 6-1 166 lb. frame from Yabucoa, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Large frame with a lean and athletic build. Ran a 6.73 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves around the infield with good range and intent, fields with softness and clean hands, sets his feet well into his throws and showed excellent arm strength clocked into the upper-80s across. Also worked out in the outfield, attacks the ball well and funnels it cleanly with good intent, gains ground during transfer and showed excellent arm strength during drills. Righthanded hitter, sets up balanced and in line with a controlled trigger, works direct to contact and stays tight through the zone, swings hard with a good line drive path and is able to work to all fields with some jump off the barrel. Great student. Named to 2021 Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
