Preston Burnside is a 2022 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-9 152 lb. frame from Bluffton, SC who attends Bluffton. Recorded a 6.93 second 60 yard dash time, showing good speed. Primary shortstop that fields it out front with good funnel to the center of the body. Has a long arm action and quick release. Uses the lower half well to work behind the ball. Right-handed hitter with a bent back leg load and high effort swing. Hands are short to the ball and uses exaggerated actions in the box. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works strictly from the stretch with a compact arm action. Fastball has occasional run and sink when low in the zone, but has the tendency to throw uphill. Shows a slider at 69 mph with cut action and a changeup at 63 mph with some sink. Excellent student.
