Nick Jones is a 2008 MIF/OF/P with a 5'10'', 168 lb. frame from San Jose CA, who attends Leigh HS. He has an average build on a medium, average frame, though does has some room to fill out. Jones is a pretty solid all-around player who can contribute in many ways. Offensively he displayed a short swing and a quick bat that played in game situations. Jones keeps hitting simple with a "see it and hit it" approach, trusting his quick bat and staying short to the ball. He is competitive and even showed a little pop while making pretty regular barrel contact. He seems to have what it takes to be a two-hole hitter. Defensively Jones has hands and feet that work, with an arm and release that are playable at 2nd base. He makes the plays within his range and has the versatility to play at all infield spots. He is a solid student and solid ballplayer.
