Gael Urbieta is a 2025 C/RHP, SS with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Loyola Academy. Physical frame with strong build; ran 40 yard dash in 5.40 seconds. Hits from even-based stance, barrel starts high, bars out into locked load, big swing with strength and intent behind it, good leverage on front side, gets the ball into the air pull-side consistently, big jump off the barrel, can really drive the ball pull-side. Primary catcher, quick transfer, clean receiver, tends to rush and will get tangled in lower half, quickness of release stands out. Also took infield reps, solid third base profile, hands work well in any direction, clocked up to 80 mph on throws across. Excellent student, named to 2023 Chicago Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
