2022 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Danny Machado is a 2025 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends Archbishop McCarthy. Outstanding athletic build, has good strength for his age and plenty of physical projection remaining. 7.36 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, moves well to the ball with athleticism and balance, plus lateral quickness, showed soft hands and fields the ball cleanly, some young arm strength across the infield with more to come, solid overall pack defensively. Switch-hitter at the plate, was more advanced from the left side with a short and direct swing, gets his hands out and through the ball well, right handed swing tends to be longer and not as well timed. Also pitched, has a full delivery with a high leg raise, arm action is clean from a 3/4's slot. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, has been up to 81 at past PG events, adds and subtracts from his fastball and gets good life at times. Also threw a short slider and a change up. Named to the Preseason HS Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
