Andrew Johnson is a 2021 C/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Lacrosse, WI who attends LaCrosse Central HS. Athletic strong build. Utilizes a low side saddle start behind the plate with good footwork gaining ground from behind the plate quickly. Showed the ability to keep throws low with good follow through and finish. Showed developing arm strength and quick transfers topping at 71 miles per hour to second base while posting a 2.09 second pop time. Left handed hitter. Employs an upright slightly open stance with a high hand and back elbow set up. Uses hand movements as timing mechanism pre pitch. Rotatal pull side approach looking to drive the ball deep into right field. Developing barrel control with good bat speed creating some solid contact to the pull side. Great student.
