Maloy Heaghney is a 2023 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Eureka, MO who attends Eureka. Medium athletic build with lots of time and room to fill out and get stronger. 6.97 runner, feet are active in the infield, works low behind the ball, circles the ball well, long and loose arm action projects well, makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with an elevated swing plane, rotational upper body swing, swings hard and is looking to improve the ball, made solid middle of the field contact in the games, has an idea at the plate for a freshman. Also pitched, slow to fast delivery, over the top arm slot with lots of spinal tilt and misdirection at release. Gets good angle to his fastball, topped out at 77 mph to go with a soft curveball. Excellent student.
