2019 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Alex Urlaub is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from West Fargo, ND who attends West Fargo Sheyenne. Athletic frame with strength in build and square shoulders. Ran a 7.60 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Stays low and light on feet with some quick twitch movements especially when working to and through the backhand. Clean footwork through a quick exchange and release. Stays accurate to the bag with some carry across the field topping out at 81 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an even stance to start and utilizing a leg lift trigger for timing. Starts from a barred position with a direct path to the ball. Creates some barrel speed on a slightly elevated bat path making hard contact with some consistency. Excellent student as well.
