Samuel Cozart is a 2025 RHP/ with a 6-7 240 lb. frame from High Point, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Well proportioned extra strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. Medium length arm swing with a long stride out front and very good extension to the plate, gets into his strong lower half well, controls his delivery well and is consistent in his mechanics. Fastball worked in the upper 80's, have seen frequently in the low 90's this spring and early summer, works his fastball to all quadrants and has feel for the pitch. Breaking ball toggled between curveball and slider shape, more effective with the shorter and later break. Showed nice feel for a change up that will develop into a weapon for him as he uses it more. Very polished pitcher for his age to go with his physical talents. Verbal commitment to Mississippi State.
