Marcus LeClair is a 2023 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-3 165 lb. frame from Oakton, VA who attends Gonzaga College. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lots of room to fill throughout with added strength moving forward. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, pitched exclusively out of the stretch, hand raise in unison with high leg lift up past belt; high lead arm with quickness to arm stroke working to a high three-quarters release point, effort at release. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, worked mostly to arm side, best life when on time and working to glove side. Curveball shows late lateral break up to 70 mph with 1-7 shape, flashed a changeup at 74 mph as a third pitch. Loose and accurate arm from the outfield, developing lower half mechanics through the ball, fields the ball out front, nice carry out of hand; athleticism plays off the first base bag, sound mechanics, accurate across the diamond. Switch-hitter, more advanced swing from left side at present, slightly open stance, oqccaiosnally gets uphill with path but shows nice bat speed with whip to hands, best carry to pull side. Upper body dominant swing from right side, keeps hands inside and utilizes a middle of the field approach, turns the barrel well and gets it out front at point of contact. Very good student.
