2022 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Joseph Bernardo is a 2023 C/1B/IF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Wayne, NJ who attends DePaul Catholic. The '23 prospect certainly looks the part of a catcher, working exclusively from his primary spot behind the dish flashing a repeatable compact arm action and quick transfer to consistently put throws on the bag. He successfully gained ground in the footwork and should see arm strength continue to develop, ultimately posting a pop time of 2.01. Offensively, Bernardo started from a slightly open stance with plenty of bat speed through the zone to elevate balls with ease. He remained balanced in the approach and kept the barrel controlled to spray line drives gap to gap. Ran a 5.48 forty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
