Blaine Wood is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 5-8 140 lb. frame from Frankfort, KY who attends Western Hills. Young and slender build, lots of time and room to fill out and get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a hand drop load, closed front side, swings hard and stays on plane with the ball well, mid to opposite field line drive contact. 7.86 runner, moves to the ball with good balance defensively, low 3/4's arm slot, makes accurate throws. Also pitched, arm stroke was smooth and he repeated his mechanics well. Threw consistent strikes with a fastball up to 78 mph, showed a short slider as well.
