Hunter McClanahan is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Haslet, TX who attends V R Eaton. Medium frame with a lean, athletic type build. Ran a 7.54 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, proved to have feel for first step instincts as he worked into the baseball. Fundamental in his gather as he scooped it up and then worked into transfers. Accurate across the diamond as he threw it 75 mph. Feel for the position showing and projects here going forward. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a side-step to a belt high lift in the windup before driving down the mound. Stays on line to target and went right after opposing bats. Compact arm circle in the back before releasing from a higher slot. Worked with a solid two pitch mix. Fastball up to 73 mph and proved he could locate to both sides of the dish. Also mixed in a slurvy 11-to-5 breaking ball. Right-Handed Hitter, balanced to start with high hands. Worked into a toe tap to stride type load. Short and simple to the zone as he stays linear. Looks to drive it back up the middle or to the pull-side. Will make strides with a physical weight gain. Good Student.
