Matthew McGinnis is a 2026 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Walton. Primary right-handed pitcher with a tall frame and strong build. Recorded a 8.43 second 60-yard dash time. Closed front side starting point from the stretch position with high-hands set. Leg lift to belt with full arm swing to a short-arm 3/4 slot release. Ran the fastball up to 74 mph (1816 RPM) which played up with change of speeds from his changeup around 64 mph (1372 RPM) that showed depth down in the zone. Used his breaking ball with solid break and lateral depth as a third offering in the mid-60s (2006 RPM). Three-pitch mix with control around the zone from all three offerings. Secondary corner infielder with deliberate actions to gather and throws across the diamond at 71 mph. Deep funnel to exchange working at first base with developing footwork around the bag. Right-handed hitter with a narrow base and open stance in the box. Knee-lift trigger stride to even with hands dropping from high start into slot. Short swing with downhill path and some impact to the pull side when contact is out front. Has the size and strength in frame to improve with some minor adjustments to smooth out actions. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
