2019 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase
Kole Krier is a 2021 3B/RHP, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Maple Grove, MN who attends Maple Grove. Athletic frame with strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary third baseman with clean, fluid footwork while rounding the baseball. Funnels out front and showed fluidity while working through exchange. Showed good arm strength at release with developing accuracy across the infield, topped at 83 mph. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing longer, loose strides while closing to the baseball. Worked through pick up well and looked to get rid of the baseball quickly from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced on line carry to the bag topping at 83 mph. Right handed hitter with a even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Looked to attack the baseball with intent while employing a linear barrel plane through extension. Primarily utilized a gap to gap approach. Also pitched showing an easy, smooth delivery. Worked quickly and attached the zone with fastball offering that generated some run in the low 80's, topped at 82 mph. Showed two planes with breaking ball, each in the low 70's and would change depth according to arm angle at release. Flashed some feel for a tumbling changeup in the low 70's as well. Very good student. Named to the 2019 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
