Billy Carlson is a 2025 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Corona, CA who attends Corona. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward with big physical projection. Ran a 6.88 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athleticism is evident in actions, smooth actions on the move, fields it out front with softness in hands, repeats, big arm strength across the diamond with carry (97 mph), showed refined footwork and hands around the bag on a turn in live action. Quick look on the mound, rock step into a leg lift up to the belt, low effort operation overall with lots of arm speed. Topped out at 92 mph, plenty of carry at the top of the zone and showed a hammer curveball up to 77 mph with high spin rates and late life. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a double toe tap trigger for timing in the box. Loose and quick hands, does a nice job of getting the barrel out front at the point of contact. Consistent swing, strong through the point of contact with carry to the pull side, repeats it well and projects nicely moving forward. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Vanderbilt.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
